These cookies are from my childhood. My Aunt Angel, a true baker, never once measured any ingredients. From the Florida room, she would ask you what was in the cupboard/fridge and the quantity then determine if a store-run was in order. The aroma of these baking would pull one into a state of Nirvana. Sadly, no one in my family could replicate the tea cake precisely until now! Great with a chilled glass of milk, coffee, or a spot of tea.
